Mountain Trax is an independent bicycle retailer based in Barkham, near Wokingham in Berkshire, UK. The shop is ideally located within the M3 / M4 corridor close to Reading, Newbury, Bracknell, Basingstoke, and Wokingham. Although our true catchment is nationwide owing to some of the sought after brands and products stocked. For bike testing the store is seven miles from Swinley Forest, with its excellent mountain bike trails.

Specialising in high-end performance and leisure cycles, we stock; mountain, road, hybrid, commuter, cyclocross and childrens bikes, and parts from the top manufacturers. We also sell everything else you’d expect from a good bike shop, from cycle clothing and footwear, through sports nutrition to technology like GPS units, cameras and lights. You can buy securely through our website and have items delivered, or use Click and Collect instore. Alternatively, come and visit us at our 3500ft Barkham showroom where we have 1000's more products in stock, as we don't upload every product to the web. There is plenty of free parking, an area to test ride bikes, and we're open 5 days a week Tuesday to Saturday 9am-5pm. We also have a DEMO CENTRE with a great selection of 40 mtb, 10 road & gravel bikes, lights, wheels and helmets to TRY BEFORE YOU BUY - 365 DAYS A YEAR. Demo Bikes

Mountain Trax has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to servicing and repairing bikes, with skilled mechanics and up to date tooling, a majority of the work will be carried out in our workshop. We do have some great service partners used when required such as Mojo, TFTuned, and SRAM, to give your bike and components the best service we can.


Please phone in advance to discuss the work required and check Service Centre lead time to book a slot.


Making your bike safe and smooth at a reasonable cost .We offer a range of servicing to suit all needs, bikes and budgets (prices exclude parts). Additional tasks can always be added such as a fork or shock complete strip down service.


Also now offering E-Bike (Bosch) servicing including firmware upgrades and taking on warranty cases if required.



Gear Service £29

The Gear Service comprises degreasing the drivetrain, detailed setup and adjustments and a safety check inspection of the whole bike carried out.

Mountain Bike Basic Service £55

The Basic Service includes the tasks within the Gear Service. We’ll also service the brakes and bleed hydraulic brakes if required, inspect them for wear and damage, a safety check inspection of the whole bike is also carried out.

Road Bike Basic Service £45

The Road Bike Basic Service includes the tasks within the Gear Service. We’ll also inspect for wear and damage on the brakes, rims and tyres, service the brakes and replace the cables if required, a safety inspection of the whole bike is also carried out.

Full Service £119

The Full Service is a complete strip down of the bike, all components removed de-greased, serviced, lubricated or replaced. On full suspension bikes the linkage axles are removed, inspected, greased and re-fitted, the linkage bearings are inspected and lubricated, suspension units are inspected cleaned and lubricated in the full service, the hubs will be stripped and re-greased. Our safety check inspection is carried out along with the frame and forks being cleaned and polished.


Getting your trusty steed back on the road or trail. Mountain Trax is able to carry out many different repairs but we also have really skilled service partners for some tasks we’re not set up for; carbon fibre repair, re-sprays and welding. We would always try to repair first before replacing a component, our skilled mechanics will try to repair your bike at minimal cost.


Giving your bike that little bit more. If you want to upgrade your bike we can guide you in the right direction - whether you want to fit the latest kit to make your bike lighter and faster, or you simply want to add that personal touch to an off-the-shelf bike. Our skilled, knowledgeable staff will help you choose and fit the right components.
Invisi Frame Fitted


Invisi Frame is expertly fitted by one of our technicians, we can also provide the kit or you can buy it direct from invisi-frame. We charge an extra for bikes not supplied by Mountain Trax, as we require stripping and cleaning the bike to be able to apply the kit. Used bikes and brakes are also charged at £89, as we'll spend more time cleaning and/or disassembling the bike.

Even if you didn't buy a product from us we can still help you if you believe that the product you bought is covered by the manufacturers guarantee, we deal with most cycle parts and accessory manufacturers and a number of bicycle manufacturers so we could take on your case and and deal with it for you. We charge for this service with an admin fee (This is free of charge with products bought from Mountain Trax) we also charge for the Postage and Packaging.


Please bring your item in with a copy of your proof of purchase and if possible a copy of the manufacturers T&Cs, the warranty action is at the discretion of the Manufacturer / Supplier not Mountain Trax, all quoted fees are paid up front and if any additional fees are required they can be paid for on collection. A refund of admin fee can be done if the case is unsuccessful.
