Demo Bikes
The options available to test are carefully handpicked from our current ranges. Our experienced staff will assess your needs and guide you toward to testing the most suitable models depending on riding style, aspirations, budget etc. If you’re interested in a specific bike or size that we don’t have in our Demo Centre, we may be able to source it from our suppliers. So please let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

How does the demo scheme work?
When you sign up for the Demo Scheme we’ll make a small one-off charge (card payments only).
- £40 - Road bikes
- £80 - Mountain bikes
- No charge - Lights, wheels, saddles and clothing
You can take the bike out for up to 24 hours. You can try demo road bikes on the adjacent country lanes or from home. Most people take demo mountain bikes to Swinley Forest, which is an easy ten minute drive from the shop. Swinley has three easy-to-follow waymarked trails, graded green, blue and red, so you can compare bikes on identical test loops. There are also some good places to try bikes off-road in the woodland near the shop. Feel free to ask us for suggestions. Alternatively you can take bikes away to test on your usual local routes.
Demo terms
- Please bring a form of ID such as Driving Licence or Passport, we retain these securely in our till whilst you have the bike.
- Bring a Utility Bill.
- We can supply flat or clipless pedals, or bring your own.
- Please don't take demo & hire bikes to trail centres further afield, such as Wales etc, we've seen too many unforeseen crashs with expensice repair bills.
- We reserve the right to refuse demos at our discretion.
- Use of demo bikes is at the customer's own risk and we recommend wearing a safety helmet. A declaration must be signed prior to the demo agreeing to the T&C's. You are fully responsible for the due care of the demo bike and are liable for any costs associated with damage, loss, theft, confiscation etc.

The Demo Fleet for 2023 has been depleted due to the range and availability of bikes. If you are interested in specific models we can liaise with the brands such as Santa Cruz, Whyte, Yeti and Orbea to call upon their test bikes.

Our hire bikes are high quality electric full suspension mountain bikes with Bosch or Shimano motors suitable for off-road xc and trail riding.

EVOC BIKE TRAVEL BAG HIRE
The Evoc Bike Travel Bag has been designed to protect your bike wherever you travel. Mountain Trax can now offer you the chance to hire one of these fantastic bike bags. They are suitable for carrying road, mtb or downhill bikes. Please phone the shop to confirm dates and number of bags required - we have limited availability at peak times June to September so book early. They are for collection and return instore. If you require a hire bag to be delivered to you please contact us first for shipment charges. Return shipping is at the hirers expense.
